SPACES SGD:
SPACES – SGD Groundwater / Seawater interactions along the South African south coast and its effects on sustainable coastal and water resource management, TP - C

Duration:
01.08.2013 - 31.07.2016
Project coordinated by:
Helmholtz-Zentrum für Umweltforschung (UFZ)
Project manager (IOW):
Dr. Michael L. Zettler
Funding:
BMBF - Bundesministerium für Bildung und Forschung
Researchfocus:
Focus 2: Basin-scale ecosystem dynamics
Partner:

Sub-Project 3 aims to assess the effects of submarine groundwater discharche (SGD) as direct terrestrial impacts on the structure and function of benthic marine biota off the South African coast. Groundwater seeps induce physiological effects on marine species and thus influence the diversity of benthic biota.
