The project aims to develop a numerical model that enables the start-up Planeteers GmbH to simulate and analyse ocean alkalinization. The method is used for atmospheric CO₂ removal and subsequent storage in the sea. The planned model is to cover the Eckernförde and Kiel Bay and simulate the hydrodynamics and biogeochemistry of the region.

The model setup will be available to the client and also remain at the IOW, where it can be used for research purposes without restriction.
