Paramount objective of KueNO is coordinated knowledge and data transfer of the scientific results and products gained within five collaborative research projects in coastal and shelf research in the North and Baltic Sea (BACOSA, MOSSCO, NOAH, SECOS und STopP), which are funded through the Programme Research for Sustainable Development (FONA) of the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF). Against this background, the set-up of a data portal is the means to give access to research or monitoring data and data products for authorities and decision makers in order to provide a sound scientific basis for ecosystem based and sustainable planning and impact assessments in the German EEZ.
