BIOACID II: Biologische Auswirkungen der Ozeanversauerung;

Die Änderung biologischer Produktion und Artenzusammensetzung in Abhängigkeit von pCO2 und Temperatur solenl
im Rahmen des BIOACID Projektes in den vorliegenden Konsortien untersucht werden. Das Konsortium 0 wird die
organisatorische und logistische Aufgaben für das BIOACID Projekt übernehmen. In Zusammenarbeit mit dem
gesamten Konsortium 1 sollen Mesokosmos Experimente im Gullmar Fjord, Schweden und vor den Kanarischen
Inseln durchgeführt werden, vervollständigt durch Laborstudien. Der Schwerpunkt der Arbeiten liegt auf der direkten
Kopplung der Primärproduzenten und der mikrobiellen Gemeinschaft im Pelagial, unter natürlich schwankenden ,
sowie anthropogen erhöhten CO2 Bedingungen. Die Langzeitanpassung von Bakterien aus der Redoxkline wird
zusammen mit den Indoor-Mesoksomen Langzeitexperimenten des Konsortiums 1 geplant. Im Konsortium 2 sollen
Auswirkungen der Versauerung auf benthische Organismen betrachtet werden. Übergeordnetes Ziel des Projektes ist
es, die Langzeitanpassungsfähigkeit der Gemeinschaft zu testen und Prognosen auch hinsichtlich zukünftiger
Änderungen biogeochemischer Flüsse zu treffen und die Ergebnisse in Modellberechnungen einzuspeisen.
