The aim of the project is to develop marine spatial planning concepts and to advise those ministries, authorities, researchers and planning practitioners who are involved in maritime spatial planning in the Baltic Sea marine area of the Russian Federation. The aim is to take greater account of environmental requirements in relation to substantive and procedural issues in spatial planning. As part of a pilot project in the Gulf of Finland the use of maritime spatial planning will be tested and practical experience shall be gained.
