SOCLIS: SO269 - SOCLIS-SONNE: Südchinesisches Meer - natürliches Laboratorium unter klimatischem und anthropogemen Stress.

SOCLIS und damit die Expedition SO269 hat zum Ziel, die marinen Umweltveränderungen auf dem nördlichen Schelfgebiet des Süd Chinesisches Meeres bis in die tieferen ozeanischen Regionen interdisziplinär zu untersuchen, um die Auswirkungen von anthropogenen und natürlichen Veränderungen auf das marine Ökosystem zu studieren. Das Untersuchungsgebiet stellt ein ideales Modellsystem für tropische Randmeere dar, um Austauschprozesse Land-Ozean (Perlfluss), Veränderungen der physikalischen Antriebe (Monsun, Zirkulation), anthropogene Stoffflüsse (u.a. Kohlenstoff, Nährstoffe, organische Schadstoffe, Mikroplastik, Antibiotika) infolge der Entwicklung einer Megastadt auf die Wechselwirkung Land-Küste-Ozean sowie die Auswirkungen von klimatischen Änderungen in einem sehr sensiblen marinen Ökosystem besser zu verstehen. Unsere Untersuchungen werden Erkenntnisse zum Einfluss von Umweltparametern auf die Veränderungen von ozeanischen Prozessen der marinen Stoffkreisläufe (N, P, C) liefern und Aussagen zu zeitlicher und räumlicher Variabilität der ozeanischen Prozesse sowie der anthropogenen Ökosystembelastung ermöglichen. SOCLIS ist die dritte Expedition im Rahmen des MEGAPOL Konsortiums.
