Research Interests

I am a research scientist in the Estuarine and Coastal Ocean Processes (ECOP) working group in the Physical Oceanography and Instrumentation section. My research interests focus on the relationship between light, ocean radiant heating and carbon cycling in marginal seas. I use coupled bio-optical-ecological-ocean models to explore the interaction between physics, biogeochemistry and carbon cycling in coastal and shelf waters and the vulnerability of different carbon pools in the North Sea / Baltic Sea continuum to antrhopogenic inputs and climate change.
