Expertise
PhD student at IOW since October, 2006. Research is focused on the investigation of interrelations between sediment and near-bottom environmental parameters and macrozoobenthic distribution patterns in the western Baltic Sea. Supervisors: Dr. Michael L. Zettler and Prof. Jan Harff.
· Currently I am involved in the IOW working group on MarBEF project, engaged to research relevant to Baltic Sea benthic biodiversity and ecosystem functioning. The work aims to result in the most full/recent dataset of macrozoobenthic species for the whole Baltic Sea compiled regarding their autoecology, that is intended to be used for mapping purposes and predictive modeling of species distribution in response to environmental and sedimentological parameters.
· Participation in various projects
· Field work: hydrochemical, sedimentological and benthic sampling
· Laboratory: sediment, macrozoobenthos and hydrochemical analysis
Current research interests: Multivariate analysis, GIS, Geostatistics, Ecological modelling, Environmental modelling, Aquatic Ecosystem Functioning, Habitat mapping
