Marine Science Library

The library of the Baltic Sea Research Institute is a marine science library existing since 1960. It comprises the whole range of oceanographic literature (physical oceanography, marine biology, marine chemistry, marine geology) as well as basic literature of adjacent fields. It holds: books, journals, reprints, reports, and dissertations.

Using the library

The library serves the employees of the IOW to supply them with literature and information. External visitors and students can use the library, too, under slightly restricted conditions.

The library collaborates with other oceanographic libraries and is a member of AMB (German Association of Marine Science Libraries and Information Centers), EURASLIC (European Association of Aquatic Sciences Libraries and Information Centres) and IAMSLIC (International Association of Aquatic and Marine Science Libraries and Information Centers).
