The strong MBI in November 1973 supplied the bottom water of the Bornholm and Gdańsk Basins with oxygen during 1974. Although the H2S concentrations were reduced, the anoxic bottom water was not completely renewed in the eastern Gotland Basin as well as in the northern and western Gotland Basins in Oct./Nov. 1974. The oxic conditions in the Landsort Deep station are an exception (NEHRING & FRANCKE, 1976a). Discrepancies between the maps and the explaining text are explained in chapter 6, p. 21.
