Research Focus

In certain environments, bacteria play a major role in phosphorus cycling. I am notably interested in assessing and quantifying the role that large polyphosphate-accumulating microbes undertake with regards to the P cycle in flooded peatlands of the Baltic coast, and am carrying this out in the lab of Prof. Dr. Heide Schulz-Vogt.

My work is a component of the multidisciplinary Baltic TRANSCOAST project, which is funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG).
